Catholic Missions Collection:  This weekend, our parishes will take up the collection for mission activities here in the United States and in the poorest faith communities in Asia, Africa, Latin America , and elsewhere.  In 1822, this collection sent one of its first grants to the new and struggling Diocese of Bardstown, which later became our Archdiocese of Louisville.  This is our opportunity to give back to those in need.  Please be generous.

Have you had your blood pressure checked recently?  May is National High Blood Pressure Education month.  Please join us Sunday, May 4th – High Blood Pressure Sunday – and have your blood pressure checked.  This screening is provided to Saint Brigid Parishioners and the rest of the community as a free service.  Screenings will be conducted from 10:30 AM until 1:00 PM on May 4th in the Catholic Community Center . Free blood pressure information will also be provided.

Knights of Columbus Blood Drive :  The next blood drive will be May 9th from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  Your donations are always needed and appreciated.  Thank you.

Spring Festival Raffle:  In conjunction with this year's St. Christopher Catholic Church Spring Festival on May 18th, we will have a special raffle.  We will be selling only 300 tickets at $50.00 each.  There will be only one prize of $5,000.  Tickets can be ordered through the parish office and then will be mailed to your home.  Email church@stchristopherparish.org or call 270-351-3706.

Corpus Christi Procession:  It is that time of year again -- time for the annual Corpus Christi Procession at St. Martin 's in Flaherty.  We once again want to extend a special invitation to all the parishioners and clergy of our area to participate in this annual event.  The procession will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 25th on the grounds of the parish.  As in years past, members of your parish are invited to participate in the procession by wearing any special garb associated with their associations, and carrying banners and signs that represent any special parish organizations they may belong to (youth groups, altar servers, K of C, prayer groups, Altar Society, etc.).  The event will conclude with a dinner provided by the parishioners of St. Martin 's.  We hope that many will be able to join us this year.

50th Class Reunion :  The Ursuline Academy Class of 1958 will celebrate their 50th Class Reunion on Saturday, May 31st.  For more information, please call Betty Warren Bradley at 502-212-4633.

"Jesus raised his eyes to heaven and said . . . 'I glorified you on earth by finishing the work that you gave me to do."  John 17:4

Christ fulfilled his vocation by finishing the work God gave him.  An important part of our stewardship is the discernment of our unique vocation.  Stewardship is not just a matter of doing more volunteer work.  It is a response to the personal call God makes to each of us -- to fulfill the unique tasks that God has given to us.
